Today we celebrate the return of Baldur; brightest, most revered, cherished and beloved of all our Gods! He is the unblemished son of All-Father Odin and All-Mother Frigga. He is blameless in all things and he is symbolic of the sun and its light whose radiant beams are said to be Baldur's flowing blonde hair, or his dazzling and benevolent smile. We are told by the old lore, myths and Eddas that Baldur will return to reign supreme after the Ragnarok and he will rule the new golden era with peace (Frith ok Wunjo). He is therefore the epitome of the promise for a better tomorrow, albeit, only if we create a better today for our kin and kinder (folk and children). We must hold ourselves to a higher standard of personal accountability than do those whom wander aimlessly without a sound sense of higher purpose.

In today's western civilization, we are experiencing great upheavals in the most fundamental sense of personal responsibility and accountability for the choices we elect to make and the consequences attached thereto. Our society in which we live has become morally bankrupt and those whom would deny this most basic of truths, or are simply not able to descry such a reality, are those whom suffer the greatest infliction of the rampant corruption which spreads like a virus and permeates throughout the whole of western society today!

It is not too late to alter the current course of dissension which we are on. That which those who so cavalierly charted for us without regard for our natural inheritance of the strength and fortitude which comprises the Germanic Folk soul! We must shake free from the fetters of self accepted weakness, the bonds of thralldom. We must once more learn to live like the very Gods we honor and look to as examples which can afford us the very majesty and state of grace which we so oft seek. We will not, "cannot" begin to ascend to such maximums if we refuse to accept accountability for the myriad of maladies which contemporary western society affronts us with. The very destiny of our Faith, Folk, Heritage and culture is incumbent upon the actions of us today, both collectively and individually.

Does the whisper of Baldur's rebirth echo within the depths of your soul? Does it course through your veins like an ancient and mighty river whose head waters sprung forth from a holy glacier some forty millennia ago?

Is your resolve and constitution as everlasting as Sunna herself? Is your resistance and defiance against alien creeds, the hammer, or the anvil? Is your desire to see Baldur return, as true as the day is long on Midsummer? These are without a doubt, queries worthy of your consideration. In fact, they warrant an honest examination at some considerable length!

As the days begin to grow shorter now, we are provided with an excellent archetype and thereafter, opportunity to take measures of our own to decrease the power of any negative factors in our lives. The opportunity to increase our strengths as our weaknesses begins to wane. If we would usher in the return of Baldur, not only annually, but perpetually, then we must seek to emulate him to some degree. Sure we cannot hope to be completely blameless in our journeys north. But we can strive to live our lives beyond the reproach so many in today’s western society suffer from. Let us each seek to restore the splendor and majesty of Baldur and the old Gods by seeking our own transformations on a continuum. Let us edify our faith and folk with honorable and noble endeavors and let us endeavor to honor our ancestors, living folk and descendants yet to come with actions which reflect the very brightness of this holy tide of the year!

Perform a Blót to Baldur and the Midsummer and meditate upon and Galdr the following runes: Sowilo (), Wunjo (), Berkano ( ) and Kenaz (< ).
